Local & Global Missions
Our Heart for The Mission
Loving God means loving people, wherever they are. Loving people wherever they are gives us the chance to shine the light of Jesus in the darkness of this world. If we desire to Change Our World than we can’t sit idle and not do something about the spiritual darkness that exists so prominently in the here, near, and far places of the world.
At Stoney Church, mission is not a week on the calendar or a team that sits at a table; it is part of who we are as Christ’s ambassadors in this world. From meeting practical needs in our local community to partnering with missionaries and ministries around the world, we believe God has called us to live out the hope of Jesus both across the street and across the globe.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19
Everything we do in mission and outreach flows from a simple conviction: the Gospel changes lives, and we want to be faithful stewards of that message through both compassion and discipleship.
Why We Do Missions and Outreach
We believe as a local church that the mission of the Church is clear. Jesus calls His followers to:
Love God wholeheartedly
Love people sacrificially
Make disciples intentionally
Change Our World faithfully
At Stoney, we see outreach as the natural overflow of a transformed life. We don’t serve our community to earn credibility, we serve because Christ has already changed us. We don’t go into the world with our own agenda, but with humility, compassion, and a desire to see people experience the same hope we’ve found in Jesus.
“Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” — James 2:17
Local Outreach: Loving Our Community Well
Our local community is not a mission field we make visits to, it’s a place we are called to faithfully love and serve.
Through strategic partnerships, compassion ministries, and hands-on service, Stoney Church seeks to be a consistent, trusted presence in our community. Whether responding to crisis, addressing food insecurity, or simply walking alongside people in difficult seasons, our desire is to reflect the love of Christ in tangible ways.
How We Serve Locally
- Benevolence Ministry: Providing short-term assistance and care to individuals and families facing unexpected hardship.
- Food Distribution & Community Partnerships: Partnering with organizations like Forgotten Harvest and Grace Centers of Hope to help meet real physical needs.
- Community Events & Outreach Initiatives: Creating welcoming environments where relationships can be built and hope can be shared.
- Care & Recovery Ministries: Supporting individuals and families walking through addiction, loss, and life challenges.
“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16
Global Missions: Reaching the World Together
While we are deeply committed to our local community, we also recognize that God’s heart extends far beyond our borders.
Stoney Church partners with trusted missionaries and ministries around the world to support long-term, relationship-driven missions. Rather than quick trips or isolated efforts, we focus on walking alongside global partners through prayer, financial support, leadership development, and hands-on involvement when appropriate.
As a church we support 15 missionaries who are our global partners carrying the light of Jesus to what we know are some of the most spiritually dark places on the globe. From the Czech Republic to Austria, from Turkey to Saudi Arabia, from Mexico to Thailand, and many places in between we have strategic partners that are bringing the hope of Jesus to people who’ve never heard the Good News. We believe as Carl Henry said, “The gospel is only the good news if it gets there on time.” We know there is an urgency that we can’t let go of and that won’t allow us to sit back when there are more than 3 billion people today who have no access to the gospel.
Our global mission efforts are rooted in humility — learning from those we serve — and faithfulness to the call to make disciples of all nations.
“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” — Romans 10:15
Our Partner Organizations
Global Partners is the global missions organization of The Wesleyan Church, partnering with churches around the world to make disciples, plant churches, develop leaders, and bring the hope of Jesus to unreached communities. Through strategic missions work, compassion ministries, and leadership training, Global Partners helps spread the gospel “from everywhere to everywhere.”
Back2Back Ministries is an international Christian nonprofit dedicated to caring for vulnerable children and families through holistic, trauma-informed ministry. Their mission is to ensure every child is “known and loved” by meeting spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social needs through family support, education programs, children’s homes, and community outreach around the world.
World Gospel Mission is a Christ-centered missions organization focused on sharing the gospel, planting churches, developing leaders, and serving communities around the world. Since 1910, WGM has partnered with churches and missionaries to bring the hope of Jesus through evangelism, compassion ministries, education, medical outreach, and discipleship in communities across the globe.
Our Missionaries
While we support additional missionaries and ministries around the world, some serve in sensitive areas where publicly sharing their names or locations could put their safety and ministry at risk. The missionaries featured here are those we are able to publicly partner with and celebrate openly.
Mickey Veach
Mickey Veach’s earliest memory is him and his family boarding a plane and finding a large man sleeping in their seats. As far back as he could remember, Mickey was either riding in planes or living in the Middle East as a missionary kid. It was here he developed a love for film, comics, video games, and all things of nerd culture. From an early age he loved storytelling and always felt God pushing him in the direction of a writer, but most importantly a storyteller. In 2020 Mickey graduated college with a BA in creative writing, and in 2022 he felt God calling him to Japan. It’s here Mickey hopes to use the gifts The Lord has given him in shaping the manga ministry out there and spread the gospel through the arts and creativity.
